I always alert followers to this event that involves the entire world. Every year, eBird presides over Global Big Day, a worldwide event to see as many birds as possible on one day. On May 8, do a little birding from spending 5 to 10 minutes in your backyard or an all day outing to find birds. Then submit your sightings to eBird and see what data comes out of it! Last year, the world record was broken for most participates in a single birding event. Will we surpass the 50,000 attendance record? More than 120,000 lists submitted? Exceed the 6,479 species count? That all depends on your help. Will you join us on the biggest citizen science project in the world?
